Marketing momentum discussion continued…
November 5th, 2006 by Cristina Favreau
On Friday, I hosted my first Skypecast based on my newsletter article How to Get Unstuck and Regain Momentum. There was a great turnout and, despite the glitches and interruptions, the discussion proved to be interesting, informative and interactive. Thanks to all who attended.
I guess what came out of this discussion is that you usually won’t immediately realize that you are experiencing loss of momentum, but as soon as you do, get moving as quickly as possible, even if you don’t feel like it.
Here are 3 actions you need to take to get unstuck and start attracting clients:
- Set clear goals. Set one simple, measurable, short-term goal. If you don’t, you’ll have nothing to look forward to and nothing to work towards (notice the words ‘forward‘ and ‘towards‘).
- Know how to market your business. Which strategies will you use to reach your target audience? Where do they hang out? If you don’t find the answers these questions, you’ll waste valuable time on marketing strategies that won’t produce results, thus threatening another momentum loss “relapse.”
- Design an action plan. This doesn’t need to be an elaborate or complicated plan. All you need are 2 or 3 weekly actions (or better, daily actions) that will positively impact your business and move you closer to your goal(s). If you don’t, your marketing simply won’t get done.
So, what will you do this week to help rebuild your marketing momentum or keep your momentum going?

Your “set clear goals” point encouraged me to take action today: I am on my way to have some business cards printed. A small step, but I feel like I am going forward. Thanks!
[...] November 5, 2006. I was surprised with how interactive the ‘call’ went. Most everyone joined the conversation. I asked questions and those present shared their insights then asked their own questions — I hardly did any talking. Following that session, I posted a review of the call on my blog “Marketing momentum discussion continued.” [...]
