Making your website work harder

I’m really excited about this coming year. The fact that I’m expecting in February could have something to do with it, but I’m specifically referring to my business.
One of my goals for 2007 is to offer you, the busy service professional, as much marketing and self-promotion information as possible. This is all in an effort to continually help you better promote your services, gain visibility and credibility, as well as get more clients. Throughout the entire year, I’ll be interviewing, recording, printing and publishing several experts answering all your marketing, sales, networking and self-promotion questions.
Here’s my first subject: Do you want to know how to make your website work harder for your business?
Eve Léonard, web usability practitioner, will answer your questions in a series of upcoming podcasts hosted by myself.
The podcasts are designed to help you, as a small business owner, improve your credibility and gain more clients by having an efficient, user-friendly website.
I invite you to submit your questions via comments posted here. The more specific they are, the better! And there are NO stupid questions. Here’s your chance to ask all those burning questions you have about the ins and outs of your website, and how web visitors think, feel, react, and choose to continue browsing or not.
Here are some sample subjects to get you started (be as technical as you want):
- What information should be displayed on my home page?
- How important is graphic design?
- How can I find out how people get to my website?
- How does my website affect my professional credibility and brand image?
- How can I tell if a website designer is good or not?
And, if any of your contacts fall under the service provider category, please send them here to submit their questions as well. We want to cover as much ground as possible and leave no stone unturned.
Recording starts in January, so get your questions in soon!! Please indicate if you’d like to remain anonymous or if you’d like me to give you credit (”Jane Doe from XYZ Services asks this question” as well as a direct link to your site for all printed segments).
