Creating Blogging Karma

Lately, I’ve been getting lots of questions about blogging… I myself am still new to the blogging world, but through research, discussions and plain ole common sense, I want to share with you what I’ve learned so far.

I’m often asked how to attract more blogging traffic and how to get more comments. My reply is: “Create blogging karma.”

Here are 3 suggestions to get you started.

  1. Link to blogs of your clients and/or target market (write about them, trackback or add them to your blog roll).
  2. Link to blogs who share your keywords (same as above).
  3. Post MEANINGFUL comments on other people’s blogs. (When prompted for your URL, INSERT YOUR BLOG LINK, NOT your website link).

Doing these 3 things will show others you’re willing to GIVE FIRST (the golden rule of networking). It’ll encourage new readers to visit your blog. People will WANT to comment on your blog, because they’ll want you to comment on theirs. You’re also creating community as ‘commentors’ recognize each other and reply to each other’s comments… It really is beautiful to see unfold. And this all happens in relatively little time.
