Today’s Anti-Procrastination Month post is about Getting out of your comfort zone!

I’m writing about this since I’m getting out of my comfort zone today by attending The National Franchise & Business Opportunity Show at the Palais des Congrès in downtown Montreal.

Something you may not know about me is I’m also an independent consultant for a Canadian-based direct sales company. Maybe you think I’m crazy, but it’s a lot of fun! Direct sales is not for everyone. For me the combination has to be just right — reputation/image, team support/sales tools, timing, compensation plan, consumable products, affordable price point, and (most important) FUN!

That being said, I’m still uncomfortable marketing myself as an independent consultant due to the stigma attached to direct sales (that’s why it has taken me so long to share this with you). I’m afraid of how I’ll be perceived — thus creating much procrastination on my part (I spoke about the fear factor on Day 25).

As you’ve been following my fight against procrastination this month, you’ve no doubt noticed I’m facing my fears head on and plowing through with incredible success. This has given me a renewed outlook on my all aspects of my businesses, leading me to take more chances and coming out of my comfort zone .

So while I’m out ‘talking shop’ with fellow entrepreneurs, think about ways to come out of your own comfort zone, even just a little, to help you break out of procrastination and achieve the wild success you know you deserve!

I’m enjoying your anti-procrastination posts, Cristina. I’m a great fan of just doing things to test them out. Faster is Better is one of my favourite slogans. Doing is the fastest way of finding out whether your idea is good or not so good. Of course a little bit of thinking/planning can’t hurt before you leap into the fray, but small successes coming fast can be a powerful stimulant to further activity.
