Cristina,

What fantastic timing for you to be reading this book! I have it myself, and have taken the StrengthsFinders test to determine what my own strengths are. It's been a life-changing experience, and I too am super eager to spread the word! I'm even giving two talks this month for Moms in Business (www.mibconnections.com) on how to use your strengths to network effectively. My next one will be March 13 at 7:00 at the Pierrefonds Loblaws - you should come! I'm also planning to give a workshop on putting your strengths to work for entrepreneurs.

I think the greatest part about this process is that it really forces you to prioritize your life, and more importantly, it gives you vision. I know that before I took the test, I was struggling to decide how to focus my therapy practice. Once I realized that my strengths lay more in my ability to learn, play around with complex ideas, and maximize people's growth rather than "fix" them, I realized that I needed to put more emphasis on what I could teach (classes, workshops, talks, articles, etc.) and take more of a positive, empowering approach with my clients. I'm just in the beginning stages of putting my strengths to work, but it's been great. I now know what to avoid, what to prioritize in my life, and now my only problem is to find a way to stop taking on so much strenghts-based work (a consequence of my "achievement" strength)!

I wish you the best in your journey, and if you'd ever like to chat more about your thoughts and experiences with the process, let me know!
