I finished reading a book that was written just for me — the techno-dolt that I am. It’s called How to Be a Geek Goddess: Practical Advice for Using Computers with Smarts and Style by Christina Tynan-Wood.

If you’re already a VA Geek Goddess (as most of you are!), don’t get this book — unless, of course, it’s for your computer-illiterate mother-in-law!

If you’re not — and want to be — get this book.

It’s not exactly the kind of book you want to curl up in bed with, but it’s entertaining style makes it an easy read.

These are the chapters I’ll be referring to again:

  • Chapter 6 — all about internet telephony
  • Chapter 7 — setting up your home wirelessly
  • Chapter 9 — responsible parenting by keeping computers, internet et al, kidlet-safe

What I didn’t like so much? The constant references to shoe shopping. It was a great metaphor throughout, but I’m just not a shoe kinda gal.

Plus, I’m not sure how long the information will remain relevant. For now (as far as I know), it fits current technology.

  • I'm doing this interdisciplinary unit about entrepreneurship, and you have to sell stuff, the thing is i have no sweet clue what to sell and this is worth 15% of my grade in every subject. I'm desperate for ideas!
